"As a lifelong Alaskan, and in my nearly two-decade career as an Environmental Specialist in the Oil and Gas Industry, I've focused extensively on the distinctive environmental challenges presented by Alaska's Arctic and maritime environments. With profound dedication to environmental stewardship, I've actively contributed to incident response, pollution control, and regulatory compliance assurance efforts spanning across the globe from Alaska’s North Slope, Aleutian Islands, Bering Sea, Bristol Bay, Kodiak Island, Prince William Sound, and Cook Inlet to the Gulf of Mexico and South America. My proactive approach and comprehensive understanding of regulatory standards have positioned me as a trusted leader and subject matter expert in the field.
Beyond my technical expertise, I prioritize collaboration and community engagement, working closely with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and local communities to foster dialogue and implement sustainable environmental practices and solutions. My unwavering commitment to protecting Alaska's environment and natural resources for future generations drives my work, as I continue to advocate for responsible stewardship and strive to uphold the highest standards of integrity in our industry.”
"I came to Alaska in 1976 for my Masters of Science study in Wildlife Management from the University of Alaska, and due to my awe of the northern environment and all its beauty. My experience working as an Environmental Specialist for the Oil and Gas Industry on Alaska’s North Slope provides me with valuable knowledge in waste management, oil spill reporting, permitting and compliance under various federal, state and local government regulatory programs. My experience in permitting exploration, pipeline replacement, remediation, operation and maintenance activities provides me with the perspective to create positive solutions. This informs my regulatory analysis/interpretations, identifying necessary permits and working with project managers to identify and mitigate environmental concerns."
“I came to Alaska in the summer of 2011 for a temporary wildlife biology job, and quickly decided to stay, making it my new home. In the next several years I met my wife (a lifelong Alaskan), and we started our own family, settling in Palmer. Professionally, I made the transition from biology to working in oil & gas on Alaska's North Slope as an Environmental Compliance Consultant. I’ve been fortunate to work on a multitude of projects for various operators across the slope, gaining me experience in all facets of compliance in this dynamic setting. This experience, coupled with my passion for the outdoors/environment, allows me to provide excellent support for any client or project.”
