"Working in Arctic Alaska is truly a unique experience. For over 25 years, I’ve been dedicated to navigating the balance of resource development and environmental stewardship, particularly in the realm of Alaska oil and gas environmental consulting. With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in soil, water, and geo-sciences, returning to the Last Frontier was a natural choice for me. I’m convinced there is no grander place, greater need, or better opportunity to apply science in real-world problem solving.

My time in Alaska’s oil fields has shown me that having boots on the ground is the most rewarding and educational way to advance the goals of environmental management and ensure environmental compliance. This experience has equipped me with the insight to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that not only ensure regulatory compliance but also foster constructive dialogue between industry and agencies to promote responsible resource development.

After a decade with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc., I was thrilled to join Williwaw. The team here comprises a remarkable mix of diverse and dedicated professionals who are committed to shaping a sustainable future for Alaska’s vibrant energy industry."

“I came to Alaska in the summer of 2011 for a temporary wildlife biology job, and quickly decided to stay, making it my new home. In the next several years, I met my wife (a lifelong Alaskan), and we started our own family, settling in Palmer. Professionally, I transitioned from biology to the oil and gas sector on Alaska's North Slope, working as an Environmental Compliance Consultant. My experience in Alaska Oil and Gas Environmental Consulting has allowed me to work on a multitude of projects for various operators across the slope, gaining invaluable knowledge in all facets of environmental compliance in this dynamic setting. This experience, coupled with my passion for environmental stewardship and the outdoors, enables me to provide excellent support for any client or project.”

"I moved to Alaska in 1988, where I worked as an Environmental Engineer at the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) on the Exxon Valdez oil spill and in the Hazardous Waste and Contaminated Sites Remediation Programs in Juneau. My role involved extensive travel throughout Alaska, performing RCRA inspections and corrective action at various sites, including military bases, pulp mills, oil & gas production facilities, marine terminals, refineries, and numerous hazardous waste generators in Alaska. In 1995, I completed a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School and briefly served as an Environmental Specialist at the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation before relocating to Anchorage in 1998. For two years, I worked as a hazardous waste consultant for Philip Services Corp, after which I joined BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. (BPXA) in 2000. Over my twenty years at BPXA in the Anchorage Tower, I served as a Subject Matter Expert and an Environmental Advisor at Milne Point, Northstar, Endicott, Badami, and Prudhoe Bay, ultimately becoming the North Slope Environmental Team Leader. This experience has honed my strengths in environmental compliance within the oil & gas sector, focusing on waste management, oil discharge prevention and response, and ensuring adherence to environmental laws, regulations, permits, plans, and procedures. I joined Williwaw Environmental Consulting, LLC in 2023 to further advance my commitment to Alaska Oil and Gas Environmental Consulting and Environmental Stewardship."
